Then my original comment still stands: you cannot nest JSP tags (although Antonio is correct
that you have an unnecessary set of quotes).

See, this works:

<a href="<some:tag .../>">...

because <a.../> isn't a JSP tag, it's HTML.

This doesn't, AFAIK, and is not valid XML:

<some:tag foo="<some:otherTag.../>" .../>
