I'd like to see fewer s in the build, and the xdocs folder needs to be moved so the site.xml file (m2's navigation.xml equivalent) can be added. It's a work in progress. I'm fairly sure it was for Gump, so it did need to be in the repository. It looks like Gump is now using the Maven build, so it could probably be removed if no one else is using it.
