The diff I offered with the implementation for the first solution I described
had an issue where if one of the values in the array was null, a
NullPointerException would be thrown when toString() was called on that value. I
have submitted a revised diff that fixes this problem. The revised diff is
attachment 11553 which should replace attachment 11543.
