Good point.  Hadn't thought of that.

One could say it should work this way.

I'd say that's overkill.  :)  Me personally, I'd prefer the commit hook
solution.  All that we'd need to do is add a new Subversion keyword
such as $Year$ (if there isn't one already) and I'll bet Farid would
know exactly how to do this.  :)
