Here's a valid example of where these excessively long durations
cause a formatting problem:

Some of the locale tests (all the UTF-8 ones and zh_CN.GB18030.sh)
take between 45 and 52 minutes to complete (we need to optimize
them but that's another story). The width of the time fields is
clearly insufficient for these long runtimes.
