I have tested this on a standalone-cluster, closing off all the ports except the ones
in use. I was able to verify that the basic applications (Spark shell, SparkPi, PySpark etc.
with shuffles and caching) are working as expected. I also tested standalone-cluster mode
and found that we needed to pass more ports to the executors. This was fixed as of the latest
commit. In addition, a few of the newly added ports turned out to be unnecessary, and they
have been removed along with any associated docs.

Changes are ready to go from my side. Now I'm just waiting on green lights from Jenkins,
who is currently sound asleep somewhere.
