Sean Owen commented on SPARK-20522:
-----------------------------------

Sounds OK to me, feel free to adjust instance of hostname -f accordingly in the scripts.

> Key: SPARK-20522
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-20522
> Project: Spark
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Spark Core
> Affects Versions: 2.1.0
> Reporter: Dominic Monroe
> Priority: Minor
>
> https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-17546 introduced the `-f` option to the `hostname`
command in various scripts.
> This option is not available in all versions of linux. See for example the coreutils
documentation on the `hostname` cli: https://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/manual/html_node/hostname-invocation.html
> This means that the `./sbin/start-master.sh` does not work.
