I'd prefer to wait for bug reports indicating that that's required, rather than
taking action up-front; as far as I can tell,cygwin is closer to UNIX for our
needs than it is to Windows.

(mind you we need more win32/cygwin testers, anyway, so we may be
lacking in those reports.)
