It would seem to not require a high load condition to happen.  This is very
strange as we have never had this problem on an Ultra 10, Solaris 8 and
perl 5.8.5.  What compiler did you use to build your perl?  Did you use
the default optimization?  I used Sun's Forte Developer 7 C 5.4 and I
think that I accepted the default optimization.  Could this problem happen
only for perl compiled with gcc?
