That all sounds good, except for the ProxyPass which I'm uncertain about.

That "Place your content here" page is not from Roller. Seems like
HTTPD is not directing the request to Roller but to some other app.
How does HTTPD decide which requests to send to Roller?

That is a known bug, which will be fixed in the next RC. You can work
around it by setting the 'search.index.dir=' to the place where you
want your search index created.

That should be OK and reflects the URL of the incoming request, not
the one that will be used by Roller if you have an absolute URL set.
