Glen,

If you check roller-project/app/src/main/webapp/roller-ui/scripts/ajax-user.js

the length=50 does the filtering.

var userURL = "<%= request.getContextPath() %>" + "/roller-ui/authoring/userdata?length=50";

If you start typing it should filter on what is typed.  I guess to show 1000's of users when
initially clicking on the list is not really useful and takes time.
