The net.jini.config spec should document JLS versions in references to the JLS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: RIVER-122
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RIVER-122
             Project: River
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: net_jini_config
    Affects Versions: jtsk_2.1
            Reporter: Ron Mann
            Priority: Minor

Bugtraq ID [6370096|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6370096]
The third edition of the "Java(TM) Programming Language Specification" introduces a set of
changes to Java, so it would be useful to state that the net.jini.config specification is
based on the second edition of the JLS because the new features introduced in the third edition
of the JLS are not supported in configuration sources.

For instance, the third edition of the JLS adds 'enum' to the set of character sequences reserved
as keywords. It seems undesireable to treat 'enum' as a reserved work in configuration sources,
since this would break backward compatibility for deployments that have not migrated to J2SE
5.0. Use of generics is another example of a J2SE 5.0 feature that is not supported in configuration
sources.
