We're thinking of a scenario where YARN Nodemanagers are labelled with specific strings, and we request evaluators to run on specific nodes through specifying the desired node labels. Sure, you can start after your exams. There's no need to hurry. However, please note that I'll probably be unavailable during the summer, and we'll have to find another committer to help you. :) We can talk about the technical details when you're ready to start. Good luck on your exams! John > Support advanced features of resource managers > ---------------------------------------------- > > Key: REEF-1758 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/REEF-1758 > Project: REEF > Issue Type: New Feature > Components: REEF, REEF-Runtime-Mesos, REEF-Runtime-YARN > Reporter: Gyewon Lee > Labels: gsoc2017 > > This issue is an umbrella issue for [REEF-836|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/REEF-836] and [REEF-1750|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/REEF-1750]. > The main objective of this issue is supporting the two additional features of resource managers on REEF - Node Labeling (REEF-1750) and Preemption(REEF-836). I think this feature should be supported on both YARN and Mesos. > More details can be found on each issue link. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.15#6346)
