Subject [jira] [Commented] (REEF-1407) Catching exceptions in group communication are implemented incorrectly

Julia commented on REEF-1407:
-----------------------------

When one of the evaluators fail, IMRU driver will send close event to all the tasks. If some
tasks are able to get communication exception, it will throw Group communication exception
and fail by itself. For those that are not able to get message nor exception, we can cancel
the blocking call as we discussed earlier. But I am not sure do we have such situation. If
0, 1 and 3 all fail, 2 should get exception, right?

> Currently when a task fails, other tasks in the group are stuck in reading data by a
blocking call. We should be able to try and throw an exception and propagate the exception
to Task so that the task can handle it in a proper way.
