Subject RE: Can't seem to use myusername:mypassword@www.mydomain.com in a WebPagePortlet url
Date Wed, 05 Dec 2001 13:25:49 GMT
Has anyone gotten this resolved?

I tried extending WebPagePortlet and adding the code mentioned below to
the getReader(String url) method, but I think this method is too late.
There is no getURL method in WebPagePortlet to over-ride. Does this need
to be done in the URLFetcher class? I think it would be cleaner for my
installation if I could just extend one of the portlet classes.

The error I get just says URL not found (because it requires
authentication) and does not show the "username:password" prefix.

Please help!

-Jim

I have a fix for this. Unfortunately, I had to pull in some base64
encoding code. Paul, I'll send you what I have directly.
