Mansour Al Akeel commented on JS2-1291:

I will start working on this, and submit a patch when done.
To simplify things and make it maintainable, I will start with the archetype.
We need to discuss/agree on the direction we are moving in.

Here's what I suggest:

Currently, jetspeed-archetype, generates two main projects. One for the portal
to be customized, and the second one for a portlet application.
Most of the time we need to work on only one of these projects, as the purpose
of the portlet application, is to separate the code from the server.
In my case, I want either to customize a portal, or to develop a portlet application. In this
case, there's no big value in tying both streams together under one project.
Therefore, I suggest having two archetypes, one for a custom portal, and one for the portal

Addional tasks to simplify the build will follow.
Please confirm, if we are ok with this.
