> Third-party portlets not included in M2 release
> -----------------------------------------------
> Key: JS2-234
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JS2-234
> Project: Jetspeed 2
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Demo Portlets
> Affects Versions: 2.0-M2
> Reporter: Craig Doremus
> Third-party portlets (Google, Plumtree RSS and Sun portlets) are not included in Jetspeed-2.0-M2
bundled release, which causes an error when trying to access them after a new install. For
instance, in view mode when accessing the Google portlet, this error message is displayed
in the portlet window:
> Encountered the following problem(s) while attmepting to render portlet fragment: googlePortlet1
> Failed to retrieve Portlet Definition for GooglePortlet::GooglePortlet
> org.apache.jetspeed.container.window.FailedToRetrievePortletWindow: No PortletEntity
exists for for id googlePortlet1 removing window from cache.
> Failed to retrieve Portlet Definition for GooglePortlet::GooglePortlet
> A similar error ocurrs when running the other two third-party portlet applications.
> If you download and install these portlets from their third-party location, the errors
go away. My suggestion is to modify the logic in accessing these portlets to alert the user
a portlet is missing and notify him/her where to obtain the portlet. Alternatively, you can
include the missing third-party portlets in the Jetspeed distribution, but licensing issues
may preclude that alternative.
