HSSFDateUtil.isCellDateFormatted fails with German date pattern

Summary: HSSFDateUtil.isCellDateFormatted fails with German date
                    pattern
           Product: POI
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Minor
          Priority: Other
         Component: HSSF
        AssignedTo: poi-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: Holger.Schulz@epost.de

Hello!

I tried this function on a standard Excel German date style ("14.4.1998").
This style has got the style id 164 wich will not be recognized as a date.

I don't know how to solve this general problem but the javadoc of this function
should explain that "false" can mean "unknown date style" too.

Greetings from Germany

   Holger
