You might also need to use
http://pivot.apache.org/2.0/docs/api/org/apache/pivot/wtk/ApplicationContext.html#queueCallback(java.lang.Runnable)
to ensure that changes to Components occur in Pivot's GUI thread so that
they will repaint immediately.
