I added this line in Application#startup:
   Theme.getTheme().set( MonthCalendar.class, TerraMonthCalendarSkin.class);

and my custom calendar constructor is:
   public MonthCalendar(int year,int month) {
     super( year, month);
     installSkin( MonthCalendar.class);
