Correct. The "userData" property is an example of a "read-only" dictionary.
The "styles" property is accessed similarly:

  component.getStyles().put("color", "#ffffff");

Pivot also makes use of read-only sequences, such as the "tabs" property of
TabPane:

  tabPane.getTabs().add(new Label("Foo"));
