Subject [jira] [Commented] (PHOENIX-5082) Observations about the Phoenix-Omid integration
Date Wed, 26 Dec 2018 19:56:00 GMT

Lars Hofhansl commented on PHOENIX-5082:

My main concern right now is the performance. It's not clear why this would be so slow. Virtually
all the time is spent in batchMutate in the region server. I have no idea why, yet.

The sampler indicates syncOrDefer, the profiler indicates the skip list.
>From the profiler it can also be seen that I'm doing batches of 1000 (same happened with
batches with default of 100), and that each row added to the skip list requires over 40 compares...?!

As is, it's not useful for our applications. I'll continue to look at this.
If anybody has ideas, I'd much appreciate any pointers.
