I think instead of returning if the InternalScanner passed into preCompactScannerOpen() is
not null if we just ignore it, things should work. IndexHalfStoreFileReaderGenerator might
work on some rows that are invalid or have been deleted, but this doesn't matter as TransactionProcessor
will filter them out during regular scans. The next time major compaction is run the deleted
rows will be compacted away. WDYT?
