James Taylor updated PHOENIX-505:
---------------------------------
Assignee: Haoran Zhang (was: Dongming Liang)

> Optimize MIN and MAX when column leads row key
> ----------------------------------------------
>
> Key: PHOENIX-505
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PHOENIX-505
> Project: Phoenix
> Issue Type: Task
> Reporter: James Taylor
> Assignee: Haoran Zhang
>
> We should be able to change an aggregate query to a scan with LIMIT 1 if the only aggregation
is MIN(value) when the index is on value ASC and MAX(value) when the index is on value DESC.
Might be able to optimize the reverse too, by finding the largest possible value, but need
to test this.
