Well now, it appears that the *only* bit of ndbm included with Mac OS X
(10.1 or Jaguar) is the header file, ndbm.h. This is of little use if
you need to compile in the libraries, as mod_ssl wants to do. So the
only solution I've found is to actually install gdbm per the
instructions on my web page. The good news is that doing so appears to
cause exactly no problems with the system, except for a couple of minor
Perl 5.8.0 test failures in Memoize, which I reported here:
