Hmm, that is very weird. On your platform BSD::Resource is reporting 0 for 
process and shared size.

Just for yucks can you run this from the CLI ...

  perl -MBSD::Resource -le 'print for (BSD::Resource::getrusage())[2,3]'

If it prints 0 for both numbers then I think we may have to drop support 
for OSX, because apparently it's not acting like other BSDs.
