If Mac OS X users want to change it back, it can probably be done.

I fail to see how removing functionality is an ‘enhancement’.  In any case, the underscores
and shortcuts are familiar to those of us who use more than one platform, and provide a more
consistent cross platform experience.

I do not have much patience with the purists who seem to think that if it’s a Mac, you need
to point and click rather than use a keyboard shortcut!  Could you enable the shortcuts and
allow an option for the underscores to be visible or not?
