That depends on where you are! Are you in a text (Writer) document, in a table in a text document, or perhaps in a spreadsheet? In a spreadsheet: o Select the relevant cell. o Go to Format | Cells... | Borders (or right-click | Format Cells... | Borders). o Under Line arrangement | User-defined, click at the bottom to indicate that you want the border only at the bottom of the cell. o Under Line | Style, select your preferred line style and thickness. Alternatively, you can click the down-arrow next to the Borders icon in the Formatting toolbar and select the icon for bottom border only. This will give you the line but no option to select its style. In addition, at Format | Cells... | Font Effects | Underlining you can select various styles of underlining. Or you can use the Underline icon in the Formatting toolbar. But note that underlining underlines only the value in the relevant cell, whereas a border extends the fill width of the cell - which I'd guess is what you want. Underlining is also available in a text document, of course. In a table in a text document, underlining of the value is available, but again you can alternatively apply a bottom border to a entire cell. I trust this helps.
