Thanks for the further information, Andrea. The reason for asking is that one Forum Volunteer
(John_Ha) has a suspicion that many of the occasional problems with OpenOffice which are cured
by deleting or renaming the User Profile, thereby causing OO to generate a new default profile,
could be cured equally well (and without loss of customisation) by simply reinstalling registrymodifications.xcu.
Over time we may need to consider what purpose (if any) the "ancient" history stored in registrymodifications.xcu
serves
