You can use our Bugzilla to get an idea.
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/

For example try to fix a bug. There are about 200 unconfirmed and about
120 confirmed bugs since BugID 100000. Use the advanced search. Search
for product Base and Resolution -- and constrain the search via Custom
Search or Change History. Come back here, if you need help using Bugzilla.

Or you take one of the feature requests from there. There exist some old
but still topical issues, for example
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=42464 "[RFE] allow to link
tables from dfferent sources into one database file" or this one
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=8949 "[RFE] query on
several tables of a DBase/Calc database"

The experienced developers are currently very busy with the upcoming
AOO4.0 release. Therefore, please be not disappointed if you get not
much and not quick response at the moment. Nevertheless don't hesitate
to ask, if you need a pointer.

Kind regards
Regina
