You can find a 1.1.0 snapshot at

It was updated two days ago and includes the fix for OPENJPA-316.

Have you tried using the javaagent and confirmed that it does resolve the
problem? IIRC it should work if you manually enhance your classes via the
PCEnhancer tool but fails is you use automatic runtime enhancement.
