Try this in persistence.xml . This should solve the issue. Hope this helps.

(direct to DB2). The code also works if I remove the "fetch=FetchType.EAGER", therefore I
presume there is a bug with the handling of managed transactions with EAGER fetching.

but I would think that this should work and might need looking in.
