Maybe I'm overly skeptical, but I'd like to see some benchmark (ideally a prototype of OpenJPA using them). It's also in beta, I'm not sure I'd want to move to it just yet.

The licensing section on the summary page indicates it's public domain, but I'd feel better if there was a file in the distribution that said the same (maybe I missed it). 

It's definitely an interesting project and worth keeping an eye on.
