Rick,

           Thanks for the reply. I figured it out myself.  I put
@ForeignKey(deleteAction=ForeignKeyAction.CASCADE) in the ChildEntity above
the @ManyToOne annotation and it fixed. 

I will post the whole code later just to help others.
