Sure. It works with OpenJPA 0.9.7-SNAPSHOT and 0.9.8-SNAPSHOT:

<property name="openjpa.jdbc.SynchronizeMappings"
value="buildSchema(SchemaAction='add,deleteTableContents')" />

It won't work with 0.9.6-incubating.
