Subject Can't run windows executable or service
Date Fri, 04 May 2012 22:14:48 GMT
Hi there,

I installed Tomee+ 1.0 on a Windows 2008R2 Standard SP1 machine
(64-bits). It complains that all tomee executables (be the amd64 or the
x86 one) are not compatible with this windows edition, as if I was
trying to run a 64-bits exe on a 32-bit OS:

Installing the service 'TomEE' ...
Using CATALINA_HOME: "C:\java\apache-tomee-plus-1.0.0"
Using CATALINA_BASE: "C:\java\apache-tomee-plus-1.0.0"
Using JAVA_HOME: "C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_31"
Using JRE_HOME: "C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_31\jre"
Using JVM: "C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_31\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll"
"C:\java\apache-tomee-plus-1.0.0\bin\TomEE.AMD64.exe" //IS//TomEE
This version of C:\java\apache-tomee-plus-1.0.0\bin\TomEE.amd64.exe is
not compa
tible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's
system i
nformation to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit)
version of the
program, and then contact the software publisher.
Failed installing 'TomEE' service

C:\java\apache-tomee-plus-1.0.0\bin>java -version
java version "1.6.0_31"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_31-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode)

But if I use tomcat startup.sh it looks like tomee is fine. Maybe you
got broken exes on the distribution zip files?
