Michael Brohl commented on OFBIZ-9339:
--------------------------------------

I agree that it looks strange that an itemType is automatically set which does not appear
in the drop-down during order entry or order item editing below.
The question is if we have to add itemType PRODUCT_ORDER_ITEM to the drop-down lists, right?

Wai, do you have checked the business logic which is called when you click "Add to order"?
I only checked briefly and PRODUCT_ORDER_ITEM seems to be the default and is checked in several
places. I guess it is intended to either specify another item type or, if it is not specified,
the system assumes PRODUCT_ORDER_ITEM.

> When creating a purchase order. Adding an product without specifying the "Item Type"
is automatically given value of PRODUCT_ORDER_ITEM. The permitted values should be: ASSET_ORDER_ITEM,
SUPPLIES_ORDER_ITEM, INVENTORY_ORDER_ITEM (as shown in the dropdown)
