can't use <map-entries> or <list-entries> without an appropriate getter
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

         Key: MYFACES-1017
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-1017
     Project: MyFaces
        Type: Bug
    Versions: 1.1.1
    Reporter: Martin Winkelmann
    Priority: Minor

Initializing a bean property from <map-entries> or <list-entries> elements only
work's if there is a appropriate getter (otherwise a PropertyNotFoundException is thrown).
According to JSF specification a getter should be optional.

The JSF specification for initialization bean properties from <map-entries> elements
says:

1. Call the property getter, if it exists.
2. If the getter returns null or doesn't exist, create a java.util.HashMap,
otherwise use the returned java.util.Map.
