Subject [jira] Closed: (MYFACES-593) UIData does not support Set as data model
Date Wed, 21 Sep 2005 09:39:41 GMT

Bruno Aranda closed MYFACES-593:
--------------------------------

    Resolution: Invalid

This issue is somehow related to MYFACES-286. According to the spec (section 4.1.3.2, p4-8),
a DataModel is generated if the value is one of this:

- java.util.List
- Array of java.util.Object
- java.sql.ResultSet (which therefore also supports javax.sql.RowSet)
- javax.servlet.jsp.jstl.sql.Result
- Any other Java object is wrapped by a DataModel instance with a single row.

So to be consistent to the spec this functionality was removed, otherwise your application
would be incompatible with the RI. You should use Lists instead or, an unelegant solution,
use HtmlDataTableHack instead of UIData, which can handle Collections...

Regards,

Bruno

> The createDataModel method of UIData class does not support the java.util.Set. Previous
versions (1.0.9) did provide support for the java.util.Set.
