Subject [jira] Commented: (MYFACES-517) /WEB-INF/faces-config.xml parsed twice

Martin Marinschek commented on MYFACES-517:

I thought I did comment - obviously my comment was lost.

the faces-config.xml file in your WEB-INF directory will automatically be parsed - no need
to specify it as a context-param in your web.xml.

If you do so, the faces-config.xml file will be (fully according to the spec) parsed twice.

> it is parsed twice by org.apache.myfaces.config.FacesConfigurator -- once in feedWebAppConfig()
and once again in feedContextSpecifiedConfig().
> The result is, that for example configured PhaseListeners are instantiated twice and
both called during lifecycle.
> feedContextSpecifiedConfig() should skip /WEB-INF/faces-config.xml, because this is read
in by feedWebAppConfig().
