Subject [jira] [Commented] (MESOS-3526) Transition Windows from libevent to libev
Date Thu, 08 Mar 2018 21:23:00 GMT

Andrew Schwartzmeyer commented on MESOS-3526:

Why do we need Windows to use libev? It's my impression that on Linux, libevent is used for
releases because of the OpenSSL support. What would adding libev support to Windows gain us?

> Right now we have to use libevent to compile Mesos on Windows because libev does not
have a clean standalone build available on Windows. (We also use a beta version of libevent
because it's easier to compile.)
> But, this changes the behavior of libprocess significantly. So, we need to think about
transitioning to libev after MVP.
