Hi Zhiyong,

There's no reason why it couldn't take Iterable instead of Seq. Feel free to make that change and send a pull request on GitHub.

By the way, for Spark questions, it would be better if you used spark-users@lists.eecs.berkeley.edu (sign up at https://lists.eecs.berkeley.edu/sympa/subscribe/spark-users).
