Hi Simon,

> Are you using Sun's JDK?

Yes, the stock Apple Java of 10.6:

$ mvn --version
Apache Maven 3.0.5 (r01de14724cdef164cd33c7c8c2fe155faf9602da; 2013-02-19
07:51:28-0600)
Maven home: /Users/curtis/brew/Cellar/maven/3.0.5/libexec
Java version: 1.6.0_43, vendor: Apple Inc.
Java home: /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home
Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: MacRoman
OS name: "mac os x", version: "10.6.8", arch: "x86_64", family: "mac"

Anyone else using 10.7.5 have this problem? Personally I can't investigate
any further, since I don't have a Lion system.

Regards,
Curtis
