Ok, sounds good.

The other notion I wanted to throw out on the table that I would like to
see in the SCM project.

Currently in IDEA there are the nice visual hints that tell you what the
SCM status is of a particular file:

- needs to be added to the repository
- has been modified
- is up-to-date

I would like the be able to use the capabilities of the SCM package
within an IDE like environment:
