does it mean that shortDescription and project properties will be gone?

I've been using both in m1 to generate something which resambles RAS like
profiles from POMs.
Properties are very helpful in m1 (api to access them is not:)) to add some
non standard extensions to POMs.

For example "my" extenstions included (this was requested by our managment):
information about project category,
project state and release date. This additional information was then used
for generating various non-standard reports.
For example (it's not a full picture) I am trying to generate something
like http://java-source.net/ from the database of our poms
and I need "category" property in POMs to classify projects. So for me it
will be quite painful to loose those pom elements in m2.
