Hervé Boutemy commented on DOXIASITETOOLS-101:
----------------------------------------------

this version of Doxia Site Rendering has already a lot of cleaning in a lot of areas: let's
clean another area :)

notice #createVelocityContext has been renamed now to better differentiate Document processing
from Site Template (skin) processing: see DOXIASITETOOLS-131

+1 for publishDate: removing unusable feature (never asked for) is a good simplification

+1 for isoDateFormat

for each other idea, we need to discuss on separate threads, since we ned to precise semantics
(current, which is barely documented, and future which should be documented :) ): general
ideas seem relevant to me

there is just one common issue: compatibility
IMHO, just removing old variables will make old skins not work with newer maven-site-plugin,
which seems a bit rude
we need some transition, ideally with warnings (not sure it's easy to implement)

of course, for Maven-owned skins, we can update our skins immediately (then require maven-site-plugin
3.5)

perhaps we need to think about adding feature regarding skins and maven-site-plugin versions
requirements: perhpase it's too much complexity for low benefit...

> Currently we have {{dateFormat}} only which depends on {{site.xml}}, we need a standardized
format which can we used in meta tags as well as throughout the site, if necessary.
