You could define the goal only, like

             
                 net.innig.sweetxml 
                 sweetxml-maven 
                  
                                              
                          
                             convert-resources 
                          
                      
                  
              

which should work.

But you must define at least the goal.

Other (default) plugins (like maven compile plugin) works without defining
the goal or phase explicitly, because the goal / phase are defined in the
maven super pom.xml, which is bundled in the maven installation. Open the
lib file in your maven installation and you will see it.
