Excessive Memory Consumption

         Key: MPDASHBOARD-21
     Project: maven-dashboard-plugin
        Type: Bug
    Versions: 1.6
Environment: Windows XP, Maven 1.0.2, maven-xdoc-plugin-1.9-svn-SNAPSHOT-157980 and commons-jelly-1.0-RC1.jar
via jar override
    Reporter: Florian Nierhaus

During the dashboard report memory consumption of maven grows excessively. I need to set MAVEN_OPTS=-Xmx1024M
to get my build through (but I still need to add more projects).

I really love maven, but the memory consumption is a big issue. I looked at commons-jelly
and it seems they have fixed a quite big memory leak, and it works fine for the updated xdoc
plugin, but maven itself still seems to leak.

Anyway any tips/tricks, except hoping for the next maven release?
