Thank you for trying this out!
ElasticSearch is coded in such a way (namely, its "builder" style architecture) as to prevent
the query from being modified directly by the plugin toolkit.  That's why we couldn't do the
full job and just included a toolkit meant for application integration at the Java level.
 Tickets were opened for ElasticSearch to address this, but I do not think any work was done.

If you think the JavaScriptAPI permits this all to work properly, and without much coding
on the user's part, it would be great to have a detailed description of how you might do this
using that technique.
