You want to look at "Boolean" classes like the tongue-twisting
GenericBooleanPrefDataModel and
GenericBooleanPrefItemBasedRecommender.

The former is more of an optimization. If you use it when you don't
have ratings, it will be faster and consume less memory. Using the
regular version works too, it's just not taking advantage of the
situation.

Using the second is necessary for it to work at all. Since you have no
ratings, by nature, algorithms which try to predict ratings won't work
meaningfully as-is. All the predictions will be the same. These are
modified versions that do something slightly different to "predict
ratings" in order to get meaningful results.
